Hi! I'm HeHe.
My professional bio will let you know that I’ve got a Masters in Human Development and Family Studies…
But that doesn’t tell you is why I do this work.
I see the birth event as the center point in a life long ripple effect!
My journey started with working with children on the autism spectrum. I taught parents skills and tools to use at home. Later, I worked in early intervention and noticed the same things coming up for parents no matter where I met them…
Parents were carrying so much angst, so much anxiety and so much birth trauma and it was bleeding into their parenting journeys. Obsessed with this pattern, I started exploring doulas and birthwork – but I still felt there was an evidence gap that wasn’t fully supporting parents who wanted to heal from birth trauma and make decisions to avoid it in the future.
Deep breathing and affirmations are great - but what do you do when your provider puts pressures on you to make decisions that you don’t feel comfortable with?
That’s where The Birth Lounge was born!
Acting in place of a doula, protecting you from birth trauma and providing you with the practical, scientific support you need to be your own biggest advocate.
